For those of you that enjoy powerful, ripping guitar solos working against a foundation of various blues rhythms and strong vocals, I give this CD a hearty recommendation. As jeniketti title denotes, this is a blues based affair with some monsterous guitar heroics, the best any hard rocker has laid down since Gary Moore in the early '80's before he took leave of his senses!!
This is a blues-rock guitar CD all the way. For much of the music of On the Blue Side Dave manages to balance a very agressive guitar attack with emotional feeling, a combination that's not often pulled off sucessfully. Meniketi personal fav of the lot is the Boz Scaggs penned "Loan Me A Dime" which stretches to ten minutes in duration and I swear it is so adve it feels like it is over in three minutes.
